THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CRIMINAL PETITION No.4939 OF 2016 ORDER:
This petition is filed by the petitioner-A1 under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking to quash the proceedings against him in C.C.No.245 of 2011 on the file of the XIII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Hyderabad.
Heard and perused the material available on record. The petitioner is alleged to have committed the offence punishable under Sections 498-A and 506 IPC and Sections 4 and 6 of the Dowry Prohibition Act r/w Section 34 IPC. After arguing for some time, the learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the above C.C. pertains to the year 2011 and that the petitioner is ready to face the trial and therefore, a direction may be given to the trial Court to dispose of the case expeditiously. He further prayed for dispensing with the presence of the petitioner before the trial Court.
In view of the above submission, the trial Court is directed to dispose of the above C.C. as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The presence of the petitioner-A1 before the trial Court is dispensed with till disposal of the above C.C. except on the dates when his presence is specifically required by the trial Court. The petitioner is directed to be represented through a Counsel before the trial Court on all hearing dates.
Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is disposed of.
Consequently, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
