O R D E R

Petitioners are publishers and they claim to have supplied Neo Literature Books to gram panchayats under the Sakshar Bharat Scheme, introduced by Government of India, in the erstwhile State of Andhra Pradesh. The grievance of the petitioners is that for the period from 2011 to 2014, the 1st respondent - Government, has not released the amount to a tune of Rs.48,16,000/ -. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition is filed.

2nd respondent - Director, Adult Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad filed counter affidavit and admitted payment of certain amounts to the petitioners.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Education.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions of the learned counsel, writ petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent to make payment of the admitted amounts in the counter affidavit to the petitioners.

However, it is open to the petitioners to avail alternative remedies for payment of disputed amount from the respondents. Interlocutory applications pending, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
