THE HON'BLE Dr. JUSTICE SHAMEEM AKTHER CRIMINAL PETITION No.2626 of 2018 ORDER:

This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., is filed by the petitioner/accused No.1, seeking to direct the learned Judicial First Class Magistrate, Amadalavalasa, Srikakulam District, to conduct trial and dispose of S.T.C.No.574 of 2016, as expeditiously as possible.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner-A.1, learned Assistant Public Prosecutor representing the respondent-State and perused the record.

In the course of submission, it is stated that S.T.C. is of the year 2016 and it relates to the offences alleged under the Andhra Pradesh Gaming Act. In spite of lapse of two years, the same has not been disposed of. It is the right of the petitioner-A.1 to seek early disposal of criminal proceedings.

Under these circumstances, the Court below is directed to dispose of the impugned S.T.C.No.574 of 2016 within a period of four (4) months from the date of this order. The Registry is directed to communicate the copy of this order within seven (7) days.

With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
