THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.40485 of 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India is filed seeking a writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents 3 & 4 in harassing the petitioner by calling him to police station and insisting him to settle the land dispute with the respondents 5 & 6 as arbitrary and illegal and consequently, to direct the respondents 3 & 4 not to interfere with the civil dispute between the petitioner and the unofficial respondents herein.

Though the petitioner levelled several allegations in the writ petition, the learned Government Pleader for Home asserted that no case is registered against the petitioner and that the respondents-police are not interfering with the civil dispute of the petitioner with the unofficial respondents.

Considering the grievance of the petitioner, the respondents 3 & 4 are hereby directed not to compel the petitioner to settle the dispute or compromise the matter pending between the petitioner and the respondents 5 & 6 herein and that the petitioner shall not be called to the police station in the absence of registration of a case disclosing any cognizable offence against the petitioner.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Pending Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall stand closed. _________________ RAJA ELANGO,J 24.11.2016.
