When the matter is listed on 18.06.2015, no representation is made on behalf of the petitioners and the matter was posted under the caption 'for dismissal'. On 23.06.2015, when the matter is listed, learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that he has given up the 'vakalat'. Even today there is no appearance on behalf of the petitioner. In this case since the lease period in favour of petitioners was more than 25 years, the respondent municipality has no power to extend the lease period as per the Judgment in WP.No.6354 of 2009. In view of the above, I do not see any merits in the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. No order as to costs. As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in the writ petition, shall stand closed.
