HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.39123 of 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction to the official respondents not to interfere with his personal liberty.

Heard and perused the material available on record. 3.

It is stated in the affidavit that the petitioner has been associated with the Hyderabad Branch of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and that respondents Nos.4 and 5, who are members of the managing committee of Indo-American Chamber Commerce filed a complaint against the petitioner and others and in that connection, the police called the petitioner and in spite of written explanation for the queries pointed by the police officials, they are calling the petitioner, who is a senior citizen, frequently.

Considering the circumstances of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the following direction:

"The official respondents are directed not to call the petitioner to the police station, without there being any crime against the petitioner. However, it is made clear that if any crime for cognizable offence is registered against the petitioner, the official respondents are at liberty to proceed in accordance with law."

There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
