THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.36051 OF 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition, under Article 226 of Constitution of India, is filed seeking to declare the action of respondent police in calling the petitioner, her husband and family members to the police station as illegal and arbitrary and consequently, to direct the respondent police not to interfere with the personal life and liberty of the petitioner.

Heard and perused the material available on record. 3.

Grievance of the petitioner is that the respondent police are harassing her, her husband and other family members by calling them to the police station under the guise of investigation in connection with handing over the keys relating to Sri Chennakesava Swamy Devasthanam situated at Karachola Village, Edlapadu Mandal, Guntur District at the instance of one Alahari Rambabu and also threatening them to settle the issue of Archakatvam with the said Rambabu.

Considering the grievance of the petitioner, without going into the merits, respondent Nos.2 to 4 are directed not to interfere with the personal affairs of the petitioner. At the same time, the present order will not stand in the way of respondent Nos.2 to 4 to proceed with the investigation if any complaint is registered against the petitioner for a cognizable offence. 5.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
