2. The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that with regard to crime No.131 of 2014 dated 31.10.2014 pending on the file of respondent No.4-police station, proper investigation officer is not appointed and hence, directions to that extent are sought for.

3. Instructions of the learned Assistant Government Pleader show that after registration of the crime, the investigation was taken up by the SDPO, Atmakur and he recorded statements of as many as seven witnesses.

However, after his transfer, the DIG Police, Kurnool Range authorized the DSP, DTC Kurnool, I/c SDPO, Atmakur, to investigate the case. Subsequently, the Superintendent of Police, Kurnool, under his proceedings dated 03.12.2014, authorised the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kurnool SC/ST Cell-1, Kurnool to resume further investigation in the above crime. It is stated that the said investigating officer would complete the investigation and file an appropriate report before the concerned criminal court at the earliest.

4. Since the investigating officer is already seized of the investigation, the writ petition is disposed of directing the said investigating officer to complete the investigation and file the appropriate report/charge sheet before the jurisdictional court expeditiously.

With the above direction, writ petition is disposed of. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
