Smt. Kommineni Vijayalaxmi, v. V.Trinadha Rao,
THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN CONTEMPT CASE NO.1628 OF 2014 ORDER:
The order, violation of which is alleged in this Contempt Case, has since been complied with albeit after an inordinate delay of more than two and half years. While the first respondent was holding office for a period of more than three months from the date of the order, the second respondent held office thereafter from November, 2014, and it is nearly a year and a half thereafter, was the order of this Court complied with on 22.02.2016. While the undue delay in compliance of the order of this Court is undoubtedly disconcerting, more so when violation is of a solemn undertaking made to this Court, both the respondents have admitted their lapse, and have tendered their unconditional apology for the delay in compliance. I consider it appropriate, therefore, not to proceed further against the respondents under the Contempt of Courts Act.
The Contempt Case is, accordingly, closed.
The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall also stand closed. No costs.
