THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE M.S. RAMACHANDRA RAO WRIT PETITION No.33624 of 2014 ORDER:

Heard the learned counsel for petitioner and Sri P.Harinath Gupta, learned Standing Counsel for respondent.

Petitioner's grievance is that petitioner's thesis for award of Ph.D. degree was not being received by the Officials of respondent and that they are not conducting Viva-Voce test in spite of the fact that the petitioner has completed research and study under a Research guide.

In the counter affidavit filed by respondent it is stated that the University Grants Commission has framed regulations in the year 2009 by name UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for the award of M.Phil/Ph.D Degree) Regulation, 2009. Learned Standing Counsel for respondent states that the University will receive petitioner's thesis and place it before the Monitoring and Development Committee within two months from today and after consideration by said Committee, communicate the decision thereon to petitioner within this time. 4.

In view of the said submission of the learned

counsel for respondent, the respondent is directed to receive petitioner's thesis and place it before the Monitoring and Development Committee constituted by respondent for evaluation of thesis within two months from today and respondent shall communicate to petitioner the decision of the said Committee within one week of the matter being placed before the Committee.

The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.

6. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
