O R D E R

This petition is filed under Section 438 of Cr.P.C. seeking release of the petitioner, who is A-5, in the event of his arrest in Crime No.11/2016 of K.V.B. Puram Police Station, Chitoor District, registered for the offences punishable under Section 379 IPC, Rules 3 read with 4 of Red Sandal, and Sandalwood Transits Rule 1969, Sections 29 and 20 of A.P. Forest Act, 1967 and Section 55(2) of Bio Diversity Act.

The allegations against the petitioner/A-5 are that he is alleged to have been involved in transporting red sandalwood logs without any licence or permit. Having regard to the nature of allegations made and also the gravity of the offence, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail. However the petitioner, if so advised, is at liberty to move an application for bail before the trial court, in which the same shall be dealt with in accordance with law. With the above observation, the criminal petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions pending if any, shall stand closed. --------------------------- 03-08-2016 AVS
