ORDER

This petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is filed by the petitioners/A4 to A6 seeking to quash the proceedings in Cr.No.167 of 2016 of Chaitanyapuri Police Station, Cyberabad, registered for the offence punishable under Section 304-B IPC and under Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, against them.

2. It is alleged in the complaint that the marriage of the daughter of de facto complainant was performed with A1 on 11.12.2013.

At the time of marriage, they gave cash of Rs.3,80,000/- and gold ornaments to the accused towards dowry. Thereafter, A1, at the instigation of other accused, used to harass her daughter mentally and physically by demanding additional dowry and that due to unbearable harassment, her daughter committed suicide by hanging on 22.03.2016 at 6.40 PM. Based on the complaint, the aforesaid crime was registered against the accused.

3. In view of the serious allegations made in the complaint, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned proceedings. However, the concerned police are directed to complete the investigation without arresting the petitioners/A4 to A6 and file a final report, if any, in accordance with law. The petitioners herein are directed to appear before the investigating agency as and when required and cooperate with the investigating agency.

4. With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this criminal petition shall stand closed.
