HONOURABLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR WRI T PETI TI ON No.9752 of 2019 ORDER:

The grievance of the petitioner is that the District Collector, Siddipet District, is not taking steps to register the appeal filed by him despite receipt of the same as long back as on 23.3.2019. This appeal was filed by the petitioner under the provisions of the Telangana Agricultural Land (Conversion For Non-Agricultural Purposes) Act, 2006. Perusal of the record reflects that the subject appeal was duly received by the office of the appellate authority, but despite the same no steps seem to have been taken.

As statutory remedies are provided to the citizens to afford quick justice and as valuable property rights would be involved in such cases, it is not open to the quasi-judicial authorities entrusted with such duties to remain somnolent.

The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of directing the appellate authority, viz., the District Collector, Siddipet, to take appropriate steps in relation to the petitioner's appeal. If it is otherwise found to be in order, the said appeal shall thereafter be considered on its own merits and in accordance with law by the appellate authority expeditiously. Miscellaneous Petitions pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs. ____________________ JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR Date: 10th June, 2019.
