Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Revenue.

With the consent of both the parties, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

The present Writ Petition came to be filed with the following prayer:

'For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, it is hereby prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a Writ or order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of Mandamus declaring the action of respondent Nos.3 and 7 in neither numbering the appeal nor passing any orders in statutory appeal preferred by the petitioner on 05.10.2016 assailing the orders of respondent No.4 dated 09.09.2016 as illegal and arbitrary'.

Though various grounds are raised, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction to the seventh respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 05.10.2016 filed against the order of respondent No.4 dated 09.09.2016.

Learned Government Pleader for Revenue submits that if appeal is preferred, the respondent-authorities will definitely consider the same, in accordance with law.

Having regard to the above and without going into merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No.7 to dispose of the appeal dated 05.10.2016 filed by the petitioner pursuant to the order dated 09.09.2016 passed by fourth respondent in proceedings No.B/ 1821/ 2015, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. It is needless to mention that the said order shall be passed after hearing the petitioner and also the aggrieved persons, if any. Since it is submitted in paragraph No.3 of the affidavit that there was an interim injunction restraining the respondents from evicting the petitioner from his possession, status-quo as on today shall be maintained for a period of four weeks.
