The present Writ Petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus, declaring the inaction of the respondents in closing the illegal retail wine shops (belt shops) in Kotha Kakinada area of Kakinada as illegal and unconstitutional and consequently, direct the respondents to close the illegal retail wine shops (belt shops) in Kotha Kakinada area of Kakinada and prosecute the belt shop operators while taking steps to stop the supply of liquor.

At the time when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Government Pleader for Excise, on instructions, would submit that necessary steps are taken to close the belt shops. 3.

Having regard to the fact that the writ petition is of the year 2013 and taking into consideration the submission made by the learned Government Pleader, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is closed giving liberty to the petitioners to avail remedies, if any, available under law. Consequently, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs. _______________________ JUSTI CE C.
