The grievance of the petitioner was as to the inaction of the police authorities in investigating Crime No.223 of 2015 on the file of Tirupati East Police Station. The said crime was registered under Section 424 r/w 34 IPC along with Section 3(1)(xi) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

2. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, SC/ST Cell, II Tirupathi Urban, furnished written instructions dated 05.11.2015 to the office of the learned Government Pleader for Home

wherein he stated that upon investigating Crime No.223 of 2015, the police authorities ultimately found that the allegations were false and applied for permission to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ananthapur Range, under letter dated 28.07.2015 of the Superintendent of Police, Tirupathi Urban District, to refer the case as false before the competent criminal court.

He stated that after receiving appropriate orders in this regard further steps would be taken for filing the final report.

3. In the light of the aforestated developments, no further orders are required to be passed in this writ petition. In the event the petitioner is aggrieved by the final report eventually filed by the police authorities before the competent court, it is for her to take recourse to appropriate measures available in law.

Reserving liberty to the petitioner to do so, the writ petition is closed. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand closed in the light of this final order. No order as to costs.
