HACJ W.P. Nos.10208, 10212 and 10241 of 2019 COMMON ORDER:

Since these petitions arise from similar set of facts, and pray for a similar relief, these petitions are being decided by this common order.

The facts are being taken from W.P.No.10208 of 2019. The petitioners claim to be the owners of film theaters engaged in the business of exhibiting films in their respective areas. They further claim that the exhibition of films is covered by the Andhra Pradesh Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1955 and the rules made thereunder. With the recent release of a movie called "Maharshi (Telugu)", the petitioners claim that they have filed applications before the Licensing Authority, the Commissioner of Police, for permitting them to increase the ticket price. However, despite the fact that these applications were filed before the respondent No.2, the respondent No.2 has failed to consider the applications. Hence, the present petitions before this Court. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent No.2 informs this Court that the applications filed by the petitioners shall be considered and decided within a period of one week from today.

Therefore, the respondent No.2 is directed to decide the applications filed by the petitioners on or before 16.05.2019. With these directions, these petitions stand disposed of. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
