N.Gopal Reddy, v. State Of Telangana
HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAJASHEKER REDDY WRIT PETITION No.29934 OF 2017 O R D E R :
This writ petition is filed for writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the 2nd respondent in not implementing the principle of equal pay for equal work to the petitioners, as arbitrary and illegal. Learned Standing Counsel for the 2nd respondent submits that petitioner are already getting minimum pay scale in which they are working; that as far as PRC 2015 is concerned, the matter is pending before the Government and the same will be extended as and when the Government takes a decision.
In view of the above, having regard to the Judgment rendered by the Supreme Court in State of Punjab & Others v. Jagjit Singh & Others 1 the respondents are directed to grant minimum pay scales to the petitioners in which they are working, if not already granted and also take steps for extending the PRC 2015 to the petitioners as and when the Government takes decision on it, which cannot be later than four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in the writ petition, shall stand closed.
