When the matter is taken up, counsel for petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking promotion to the post of Chief Engineer and contends that during the pendency of this writ petition, all the petitioners have attained the age of superannuation. Learned counsel for petitioners further submits that in view of the fact that the petitioners have attained the age of superannuation, the cause in the writ petition does not survive. In view of the above said submission, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No order as to costs.
