This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner/ accused, to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.48 of 2012 on the file of the IV Additional Junior Civil Judge, Warangal.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner/ accused and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing respondent No.1/ State. Perused the record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner/ accused would contend that the parties have compromised the subject matter. It is also contended that there is a divorce between the parties to the litigation and permanent alimony was fixed and was paid. 4.

As seen from the record, the allegations levelled against the petitioner/ accused are constituting the offences punishable under Section 498-A of IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. If the parties have compromised the lis, they can do so before the trial Court in accordance with law. 5.

With the above observation, the Criminal Petition is disposed of.
