This Contempt Case is filed under Sections 10 to 12 of Contempt of Courts Act alleging wilful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 08.03.2017 passed in W.P. No.5315 of 2017. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Land Acquisition.

This Court disposed of W.P. No.5314 of 2107 by way of an order dated 08.03.2017, keeping it open to the petitioners as well as rival claimants to raise their respective claims relating to the subject properties.

According to the learned counsel for petitioner, though the petitioner herein submitted his claim on 31.03.2017, the respondents passed an award in favour of the third parties. The said action in the considered opinion of this Court cannot be regarded as wilful disobedience in the absence of any direction to the said effect. In view of the same, the Contempt Case is closed, keeping it open for the petitioner herein to assail the award, if he is so advised, in accordance with law.

As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
