THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.4558 of 2011 ORDER:

This writ petition was filed assailing the action of the police authorities in maintaining a rowdy sheet against the petitioner on the file of the Mundlamur Police Station, Prakasam district.

As a counter-affidavit was filed by the Station House Officer, Mundlamur Police Station, as long back as on 08.04.2011 justifying the continuance of the

rowdy sheet against the petitioner, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home was asked to get instructions as to the present state of affairs. Basing upon the written instructions dated 08.06.2015 received from the Station House Officer, Mundlamur Police Station, Prakasam District, the learned Assistant Government Pleader informed this Court that apart from the criminal cases relating to the years 1997, 1999, 2004 and 2009 registered against the petitioner, which have already been closed, two crimes were registered against him after the institution of the writ petition, viz., Crime No.49 of 2013 and Crime No.26 of 2014. In both these offences, the petitioner was stated to have been bound over for a period of six months.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader therefore stated that the petitioner's activities have to be monitored and the continuance of a rowdy sheet against him was in accordance with law. She further stated that except for maintaining a rowdy sheet, the police authorities were not harassing the petitioner or interfering with his life and liberty by calling him to the police station. This stand of the police authorities is taken on record.

In the light of the aforestated facts, this Court is of the opinion that no direction can be issued as prayed for by the petitioner. The writ petition is accordingly closed.

Pending Miscellaneous Petitions shall also stand closed. No order as to costs.
