ORDER

This petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is filed by the petitioner/accused seeking to quash the proceedings in Cr.No.72 of 2016 of IV Town Police Station, Nellore, SPSR Nellore District, registered for the offence punishable under Section 498-A IPC and under Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, against him.

2. It is alleged in the complaint that the petitioner/accused used to harass his wife, i.e., de facto complainant, mentally and physically by demanding additional dowry and beat her frequently and he also tried to kill her by throwing from the 2nd floor. Based on the complaint, the aforesaid crime was registered against the accused.

3. In view of the serious allegations in the complaint, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned proceedings. However, the police concerned are directed to complete the investigation without arresting the petitioner/accused and file a final report, if any, in accordance with law. The petitioner/accused is directed to appear before the investigating agency as and when required and cooperate with the investigating agency.

4. With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending
