THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN Writ Petition No.4796 of 2012 ORDER:

The action of the respondents in interfering with the petitioners' business as per the licence issued to them in Form A-4 by the Prohibition and Excise Superintendent, Nellore under the guise of investigation in Crime No. 2/RCO/NLR/2012 by the ACB, Nellore, is questioned in this Writ Petition as being arbitrary and illegal. The only relief sought for in the Writ Petition is that the respondents should not interfere with the business conducted by the petitioners as per the licence issued in Form A-4. Learned Government Pleader for Excise would submit that Form A-4 licence is valid only for two years.

As the Writ Petition was filed in 2012, Form A-4 licence would have been expired by 2015. It appears the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court. The Writ Petition has become infructuous and is, accordingly, dismissed. Miscellaneous petitions, pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. _________________________________ (RAMESH RANGANATHAN, ACJ) 8th June, 2018 Pnb
