This Criminal Petition, under Sections 437 and 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner/ accused No.2, for grant of bail in connection with Crime No.17 of 2017 on the file of the Mothugudem Police Station, East Godavari District, registered for the offences punishable under Section 8(c) read with Section 20(b)(ii)(c) of the NDPS Act.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner/ accused No.2, learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondent-State and perused the record.

The learned counsel for the petitioner/ accused No.2 would submit that charge-sheet is already filed. This is the fourth bail application of the petitioner/ accused No.2. As per the order, dated 12.09.2017, passed in Crl.M.P.No.1389 of 2017 by the learned I Additional District and Sessions Judge, East Godavari at Rajamahendravaram, the trial Court declined to grant bail to the petitioner/ accused No.2 even after filing of the charge-sheet, assigning reasons. Huge quantity of Ganja (200 kilograms) was seized. It is commercial quantity. Under these circumstances, it is not appropriate to allow this application. 4 .

However, having regard to the submissions of the learned counsel for both the sides, the trial Court is directed to expedite

Dr.SA, J CRL.P.No.9584/2017 the trial of the case and dispose of the main case within a period of six (06) months from the date of this order. 5 .

With the above direction, this Criminal Petition is disposed of.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed.
