ORDER

Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submits that petitioners 1 and 4 are already working as Linemen and hence, the cause in this writ petition against them does not survive for adjudication. However, insofar as petitioners 2 and 3 are concerned, they were initially engaged in 1997 & 1999, on contract basis and they have continued upto 2011. Learned Standing Counsel further submits that the system of engaging employees on contract basis has been dispensed with by the respondents and in its place, the respondents are engaging the workmen on outsourcing basis. He also submits that if any regular vacancies arise, the case of petitioners 2 and 3 will be considered on preferential basis.

In view of the said submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the case of petitioners 2 and 3 as and when regular vacancies arise, and pass appropriate orders, as expeditiously as possible, in accordance with law. No costs.
