This Writ Petition is filed for the following substantive relief: "to issue a Writ, Order or Direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the 3rd respondent in seizing the vehicle bearing No.AP-16-Y-7323 of the petitioner is illegal, arbitrary and violation of Article 14 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to release the vehicle bearing No.AP 16-Y7323 in favour of the petitioner for interim custody on furnishing personal bond."

Pending proceedings under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, before respondent No.2- Joint Collector (CS), Visakhapatnam, the petitioner herein filed a petition on 10.02.2017, seeking release of his vehicle bearing registration No.AP 16 Y 7323 (hereinafter referred as 'the subject vehicle'), seized on 30.01.2017.

The grievance of the petitioner in the present Writ Petition is that no action has been taken on the said petition. Having heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies (AP), this Court is of

AVSS, J W.P.No.6193 of 2017 Dt: 08.03.2017 the considered opinion that the ends of justice would be served, if respondent No.2 is directed to pass appropriate order on the petition, dated 10-02-2017, stated to have been filed by the petitioner herein in accordance with law by fixing some time frame. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing respondent No.2 to consider and pass appropriate order on the petition, dated 10-02-2017, filed by the petitioner herein for release of the subject vehicle within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

As a sequel to disposal of the Writ Petition, WPMP.No.7594 of 2017, filed by the petitioner for interim relief, is disposed of as infructuous.
