THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR CONTEMPT CASE No.1348 of 2016 ORDER:

This contempt case was instituted alleging willful disobedience to the order dated 24.02.2016 passed by this Court in W.P.M.P.No.7466 of 2016 in W.P.No.5881 of 2016.

By the said order, this Court took note of the fact that the VAT Registration Certificate of the fifth respondent was dated 17.10.2015 and the notification required such certification to be issued on or before 15.10.2015. This Court therefore observed that rejection of the second petitioner's application under proceedings dated 20.12.2015 appeared to be patently erroneous and granted interim stay of further proceedings in relation to establishment of a 2-B Bar at Husnabad Nagar Panchayat, Karimnagar District.

While so, Sri K.Madhusudhan Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioners, addressed letter dated 01.02.2018 to the Registry stating that the period of licence expired and therefore the main writ petition itself was rendered infructuous.

In that view of the matter, the contempt case no longer survives for consideration on merits and is accordingly closed. Application No.669 of 2016 pending in this contempt case shall also stand closed. No order as to costs.
