Heard Sri S.M.Subhani for petitioner and Assistant Government Pleader for respondents.

The complaint of petitioner is that 8th respondent Gram Panchayat is by choice and contrary to the sanctioned road is encroaching into house of petitioner by 8 feet. The further complaint of petitioner is that at no point of time, the petitioner was put on notice, much less any opportunity afforded.

Learned counsel for petitioner has specifically drawn the attention of this Court to Exs.P-2 and P-4. Having regard to the fact that a representation was made on 25-04-2016 and on the very same day the poclainers are made to work for demolishing the existing house, this Court is of the view that the following directions need to be issued to respondents 3 and 8.

Respondents 3 and 8 are directed to examine the grievance stated in representation dated 25-04-2016, refer to the sanctioned road in front of petitioner's house and determine the exact encroachment, if any, and proceed further in the matter, if circumstances so warrant. The above exercise is directed to be undertaken and completed within seven days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till such time, status-quo as on date is directed to be maintained. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed.
