ORDER

With the consent of learned counsel on either side, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: "...to issue a writ or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the action of respondent Nos.1 and 2 in promoting respondent Nos.3 and 4 as Executive Engineers, who are juniors to the petitioner, ignoring the petitioner's case for the purpose of promotion to the post of Executive Engineer as illegal, arbitrary and unconstitutional and also against the principles of natural justice and consequently direct the respondents 1 and 2 to promote the petitioner as Executive Engineer on par with respondent Nos.3 and 4 and pass such other or further orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Heard Sri P.Venkata Ramana, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Roads and Buildings appearing for respondents 1 and 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is working as Deputy Executive Engineer and he is eligible to be promoted as Executive Engineer. But respondents 1 and 2, ignored the case of the petitioner and promoted respondents 3 and 4 as Executive Engineers. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 18-07-2018 to respondents 1 and 2 to consider his case for promotion to the post of Executive Engineer. But, so far, no orders have been passed thereon.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that appropriate orders be passed directing respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation dated 18.07.2018 submitted by the petitioner.

Learned Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 and 2 submits that the representation of the petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed thereon, in accordance with the Rules. Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation dated 18.07.2018 submitted by the petitioner

and pass appropriate orders thereon, in accordance with the Rules, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.

Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
