When the matter is taken up for hearing, counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has filed the writ petition seeking a direction to declare the action of the respondents in paying less pay than his junior and that now he has retired from service. In view of the above submission, the cause in the writ petition does not survive and accordingly the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No order as to costs.
