HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE U.DURGA PRASAD RAO CRIMINAL PETITION No.3513 of 2018 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

This petition is disposed of at the admission stage. This Criminal Petition is filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. by the petitioner seeking to quash proceedings against him in Cr.No.167 of 2018 of Uppal Police Station, Ranga Reddy District, registered for the offences under Section 498-A of I.P.C. and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

It is informed by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the matter was not referred to the Family Welfare Committee as per the directions of the Honourable Apex Court in RAJESH SHARMA AND OTHERS Vs. STATE OF U.P. AND OTHERS (1). He would submit that since there is a possibility for the parties to come for conciliation, the matter may be referred to the committee.

Considering his submission, the Investigating Officer is directed to refer the matter to the Family Welfare Committee constituted as per the directions of the Honourable Apex Court in the aforesaid decision and intimate the parties to appear before the Committee for conciliation. This Criminal Petition is disposed of accordingly. As a sequel, miscellaneous applications pending if any, shall stand closed.
