Though in this writ petition, petitioner sought for a direction to consider his case for promotion without reference to the punishment pending his appeal dated 27.12.2017 in the ensuring meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee, the learned counsel after arguing the case for some time, sought this court to direct the 1st respondent - State of Telangana, represented by its Principal Secretary to Government, TR and B Department, to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner within certain time limit.

Heard the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Services. As the appeal of the petitioner filed on 27.12.2017, is pending adjudication, without expressing any opinion on merits, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 1st respondent to dispose of the said appeal in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
