HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE T.SUNIL CHOWDARY WRIT PETITION No.27729 of 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus declaring the inaction on the part of the respondents in considering the representation of the petitioner dated 09.08.2016 as illegal and arbitrary.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel for respondents Corporation.

3 A perusal of the record reveals that the petitioner's license period expired on 01.08.2016. However, the respondent Corporation extended the license period of the petitioner up to 23.08.2016 on the eve of Pushkarams. The petitioner submitted a representation to the respondents to extend the license for a period of five more years.

4 At the time of arguments, the only relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the respondents may be directed to consider the representation dated 09.08.2016 submitted by the petitioner. The learned standing counsel also consented for the same. 5 Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondents are hereby directed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 09.08.2016 in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6 With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of No order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
