When the matter is called, written instructions, dated 24-102016, furnished by the Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Jangareddygudem Police Station, West Godavari District, have been placed on record by the learned Government Pleader and the said instructions read as under :

"It is respectfully submitted that the Commissioner & Inspector General of Registration & Stamps, A.P., has addressed a letter to the Superintendent of Police, W.G.District, Eluru, requesting him to register a criminal case against the tampering records, while the petitioner was working as Sub-Registrar, Jangaredygudem. Basing on the same, a case was registered in Cr.No.55/2008, under Sections 468, 420 I.P.C. on 26-04-2008 and investigation was taken up.

During the course of investigation, 2 witnesses were examined and recorded their statements. It is further submitted that the then Superintendent of Police, W.G., addressed letter to the Commissioner of Stamps & Registration, with a request to provide original record and the presence of the concerned enquiry officer who can explain the records for investigation purpose. It is further submitted that the Hon'ble Court granted stay of all further proceedings on 09-11-2010. In this case, investigation is completed and the case was referred as 'Action Dropped' on 31-012011. The respondent police will abide by the direction, if any, passed by this Hon'ble Court."

In view of the above said development, dropping the action, nothing survives for adjudication in the Writ Petition. The Writ Petition is accordingly closed. No order as to costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
