THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAMALINGESWARA RAO WRIT PETITION NO.26351 OF 2015 ORDER:

The petitioner is a businessman dealing in rice and oil. The premises of the petitioner was inspected on 09.07.2015. Stock was seized by the Food Inspector along with Deputy Tahsildar (Civil Supplies).

Proceedings under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act ("the act" for brevity) were taken up and they are pending before the second respondent. The petitioner filed an application on 04.08.2015 praying the second respondent for expeditious disposal of proceedings under Section 6-A of the Act without ordering interim disposal of the seized stock. When the said application was not considered, the present Writ Petition is filed. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies for the respondents. In view of the pendency of enquiry before the second respondent, this Court feels it appropriate to direct the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.08.2015 and pass appropriate orders thereon within two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Writ Petition is, accordingly, disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
