O R D E R:- (per Hon'ble Sri Justice Challa Kodanda Ram) This writ petition is filed challenging the orders issued by the Government in G.O.Ms.No. 370, dated 30.04.2006 whereby it was decided to constitute the areas covered under erstwhile Dhone Gram Panchayat as Dhone Nagar Panchayat as per relevant provisions of Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965 (Andhra Pradesh Act 6 of 1966).

This Court, by order dated 29.11.2006, admitted the writ petition, but did not pass any interim orders. The learned counsel for the petitioner has strenuously contended that the issue is squarely covered by the judgment of this Court in D. Suryanarayana vs. Govt. of A.P.[1] and we are not inclined to examine the same at this point of time for the reason that in pursuance of the G.O.Ms.No. 370, Notification was issued by the Government merging erstwhile Dhone Gram Panchayat into Dhone Municipality / Dhone Nagar Panchayat, and accordingly, necessary changes were effected as far back as in the year 2006 itself.

In that view of the mater, the writ petition is closed as no further orders are required to be passed.

As a sequel to the closure of the writ petition, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any pending, shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
