Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue appearing for the respondents.

Petitioner claims that his son purchased the land to an extent of Acs.3.20 guntas in Survey No.23/6 of Lakkapur Village, Neradigonda Mandal, Adilabad District, vide registered sale, deed dated 27.02.2004. Claiming that he succeeded to the said property, petitioner applied for mutation of his name in the revenue records. He enclosed receipt, dated 14.06.2016, issued by Mee-seva Centre as Ex.P1 evidencing filing of application for mutation of his name and issuance of pattadar passbook. Alleging inaction on the said application, this Writ Petition is filed. 3.

If what is contended by the petitioner is correct that application for mutation of his name in the revenue records and issuance of pattadar passbook is received and pending with the Tahsildar, the Tahsildar, Neradigonda Mandal, Adilabad District, is directed to examine the claim of the petitioner and take appropriate decision in accordance with the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Rights in Land and Pattadar Passbooks Act, 1971 and the Rules made thereunder. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, filed in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
