THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.13253 OF 2010 ORDER:
This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:- "to issue an appropriate writ or order or direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the inaction of the respondents 1 to 4 in not disposing of representations of the petitioners dt.04.04.2010 and 30.10.2009 as illegal, arbitrary and violative of the principles of natural justice and consequently to direct the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioners dt.04.04.2010 and 30.10.2009 to take appropriate action against the respondent No.5, 6 and 7."

The main grievance of the petitioners is that the official respondents are not disposing of their representations, dated 30.10.2009 and 04.04.2010, filed for police protection from the unofficial respondents.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is informed by the learned Government Pleader for Home that already police constables were deployed and when the police constables approached the petitioners, the petitioners informed that whenever necessary, they will make a representation to the concerned officials for police protection. Learned Government Pleader also submitted that the petitioners may be directed to give a fresh representation to the concerned officials informing the grounds on which they seek the police protection.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the grievance of the petitioners, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the petitioners herein to give a fresh representation to the concerned officials informing the grounds on which they seek police protection and on such representation being given, the concerned officials shall consider the same and take appropriate action in accordance with law. There shall be no order as to costs. 5.
Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
