Petitioners And The State of Telangana, Rep., by its Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, Secretariat, Hyderabad & others.

.. Respondents This court made the following :

THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION No.5810 OF 2017 ORDER :

Heard. With the consent of both counsel, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

2.

Petitioners are presently working, on deputation, in Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Petitioners claim that they are senior most Deputy Collectors and are eligible for promotion, but they are not considered for promotion only on the ground that presently they are working on deputation in Sewerage Board. Thus, claiming promotion petitioners submitted representations on 31.12.2016 addressed to the Special Chief Secretary to Government (Revenue) Department, State of Telangana.

3.

When the matter is taken up, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) Department, State of Telangana, to consider their representations and to pass orders within a fixed time frame. He further submits that the 1st petitioner is retiring from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.03.2017, and if a decision is taken prior to that date atleast he would have satisfaction of getting promotion before retirement.

4.

Having regard to the said submissions, without expressing any opinion on merits, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Special Chief Secretary to Government (Revenue) Department,

State of Telangana (1st respondent) to pass orders on the representations of the petitioners, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
