Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government pleader for Revenue (AP).

Petitioner claims that her husband Late Suraiah was a freedom fighter. In recognition of his contribution to independence, he was given pension under Freedom Fighters Pension Scheme vide order dated 15.12.1988. The Government of India also envisaged a policy to assign Ac.5-00 of agricultural land to the family of freedom fighter. The husband of petitioner died on 10.11.1986. Petitioner submitted representations to the authorities for assignment of agricultural land or in the alternative house plot. The said request was earlier processed, but as the identified land was required for construction of police quarters, the same was not allotted. Petitioner continued to make representations and the latest was 14.02.2018.

According to the averments in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, the son of the petitioner is not settled and therefore, the family is still in need of some kind of support by the State. Petitioner is now aged about 103 years. 4.

Since petitioner has already submitted representations, without expressing any opinion on merits, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the District Collector, Guntur-2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner for provision of agricultural land wherever it is available or in the alternative house plot wherever it is available, and communicate the decision to the

- 3 - petitioner within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
