THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.29003 OF 2010 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:- "to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction declaring the action of the respondents 1 to 5 in not providing protection to the petitioners lives and property from the respondents 6 and 7 and their henchmen inspite of repeated requests as per Sec.22(2) of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 as illegal, arbitrary, contrary to law and violative of Art.14 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to extend necessary protection to their lives and property." 2.

When the matter is called, it is represented by the learned counsel appearing for respondent Nos.6 and 7 that the matter is settled between the petitioners and respondent Nos.6 and 7 whereas learned counsel for the petitioners informed that he is not having any such information.

After perusal of the record and also the interim order passed by this Court on 24.12.2010 in W.P.M.P.No.36958 of 2010, respondent No.5 is hereby directed to consider the grievance of the petitioners herein and if the same is still in existence, he shall extend the benefit of providing protection to the petitioners by invoking the provisions of Section 22(2) of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
