THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO W.P. No.1217 of 2016 ORDER:
This writ petition is filed challenging the provisional assessment notice dated 06.01.2016, alleging theft of electricity and subject to determination of civil liability by the appropriate court under Section 154(5) of the Electricity Act.

This Court, by order dated 12.01.2016, directed the respondents to restore the power supply to the petitioner's service connection, subject to the petitioner paying the balance amount after appropriate court decides the matter under Section 154.

The learned Standing Counsel informs this Court that consequent to the interim order, 50% of the amount arrived at was deposited by the petitioner, and accordingly, power connection has been restored. 4.
In view of the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, no further orders are required in this writ petition. However, it is made clear that in the event of any adverse decision to be taken by the appropriate court with reference to Section 154(5) of the Electricity Act, the petitioner has to pay the amount as quantified, and continuation of power supply shall be subject to compliance of the other conditions of power supply and payment of electricity charges regularly. 5.
Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
