THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.34480 of 2012

ORDER

The petitioner is aggrieved by the action of the police authorities in not providing him protection in relation to his land in Puchakayalamada Village, Pattiikonda Mandal, Kurnool District. According to the petitioner, status quo orders were granted by the Supreme Court of India in Civil Appeal No.24674 of 2012 dated 31.08.2012 and thereupon, he made a written representation on 21.09.2012 to the Superintendent of Police, Kurnool District to provide him protection. His complaint is that no steps were taken by the police authorities on the said representation.

2. Sri S. Lakshminarayana Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, fairly concedes that there was no direction by the Supreme Court to the police to provide protection to the petitioner in relation to his land.

3. In the absence of such a direction from the competent Court, no duty is cast upon the police authorities to provide protection to a litigant for securing due compliance with the order passed by the Court at his mere asking. As statutory remedies are available in case of violation of Court orders, it is for the person complaining to that effect to avail the same in accordance with law. The petitioner's representation was therefore without legal foundation and there was no irregularity on the part of the police authorities in not acting upon the same.

4. The Writ Petition is therefore dismissed. Pending miscellaneous petitions shall also stand dismissed.

No order as to costs.
