THE HON,BLE SRI JUSTICE T. VINOD KUMAR CONTEMPT CASE No.68L of2O2O ORDER:
This Contempt Case has been fi1ed alleging disobedience to the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.9125 of 2O20 dated 26.06.2020, whereby this Court directed the respondents therein to complete the investigation into FIR No.67 of 2O2O on the file of Siricilla Police Station, dated 22.O1.2O2O, and file a final report before the concerned court within a period of four weeks thereof. 2.
The petitioner alleges that, despite the said direction being given by this Court, no final report has been filed by the respondent in this contempt case, and thus, there is willful disobedience to the order of this Court on the part of the \ I respondent.

A counter affidavit has been filed by the respondent in this contempt case 4.
Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, appearing on behalf of the .respondent, drawing the attention of this Court to the counter filed, would submit that though the investigation was completed and approval was obtained from the higher authorities for filing final report within the time as directed by this court, the same could not be filed immediately, since the concerned Court, on account of the Covid- 19 restrictions, was accepting only fresh cases and it is only upon persuasion and being shown the order of this Court, the concerned Court had accepted the filing of final report into the Court on IO.O9.2O2O, uide SR No.4790 of 2O2O. Thus, it is submitted that the respondent has no intention to
commit any contempt, nor shown any disrespect, to the order of this Court. Further, the respondent had tendered an unconditional apology for any lapse on his part in implementing the order of this Court, dated 26.06,2O2O.

Having regard to the submissions made, though the respondent did not comply with the order of this court in time nor approached this court seeking extension of time, however, considering the fact that the hnal report has already been filed into the concerned Court, the order of this court has been complied u'ith. Further, this court is of the view that the explanation offered for the delay, being on account of Covid-19 and beyond the control of the respondent, can be accepted and no further orders are necessary in the present Contempt case'
