THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CRIMINAL PETITION NO.7689 OF 2012 ORDER:

This Criminal Petition under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. is filed by A.1 to A.4 to quash the proceedings in Crime No.813 of 2011 on the file of Kushaiguda Police Station, Cyberabad registered for the offence under Section 3(1)(V),(X) & (XI) of Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioners-accused submitted that due to the intervention of elders, both the parties compromised the dispute and therefore, he prayed to quash the impugned proceedings against the petitioners. The complainants i.e. respondents 2 and 3 herein filed separate affidavits to the effect that they have got compromised the dispute with the accused due to the intervention of the elders and that they intend to withdraw the criminal proceedings against the petitioners. In view of the affidavits filed by the respondents 1 & 2 to the effect that the matter is settled due to the intervention of elders amicably, this Court is of the view that continuation of the impugned proceedings against the petitioners would serve no purpose and are liable to be quashed.

Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is allowed and the proceedings in Crime No.813 of 2011 on the file of Kushaiguda Police Station, Cyberabad are hereby quashed as against the petitioners herein. Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
