HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE U.DURGA PRASAD RAO Criminal Petition Nos.3875 and 3876 of 2018 COMMON ORDER:

Criminal Petition No.3875 of 2018 is filed by petitioner/A.1 and Criminal Petition No.3876 of 2018 is filed by the petitioners/A.2 to A.6 under Section 482 Cr.P.C seeking to quash the proceedings against them in C.C.No.348 of 2017 (old C.C.No.564 of 2014) on the file of Special Judicial First Class Magistrate for Prohibition and Excise, Guntur, registered for the offence under Section 498-A IPC. 2) When the matter came up for hearing, learned counsel for petitioners would submit that he is not insisting for quashment of the proceedings but since the C.C of the year 2014 is an old case, a direction may be given to the Trial Court to expedite the trial. 3) In view of the fact that C.C is of the year 2014, this Court finds reasonability in the submission of the learned counsel for petitioners.

4) Accordingly, the Trial Court is directed to dispose of C.C.No.348 of 2017 (old C.C.No.564 of 2014) expeditiously not later than six(6) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5) In the result, both the Criminal Petitions are disposed of. As a sequel, miscellaneous applications pending if any, shall stand closed.
