THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.34048 OF 2016 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ or order more particularly, one in the nature of writ of mandamus to declare the action of respondent Nos.1 to 5 in not taking action for withdrawal of the Armed Force Security/Gunman to respondent No.6 by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 6.9.2016, as illegal and arbitrary and consequently, to direct respondent Nos.1 to 5 to take necessary action on the said representation.

Heard and perused the material available on record. 3.

Grievance of the petitioner is that though he made a representation to respondent No.4 on 6.9.2016 to initiate appropriate action for withdrawal of Armed Force Security/Gunman to respondent No.6 herein, no action is taken till date.

Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home informed this Court that the said representation has to be forwarded to the competent authority i.e., Security Review Committee for disposal in accordance with law.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, respondent No.4 is hereby directed to forward the representation, dated 6.9.2016, given by the petitioner herein to the competent authority i.e., Security Review Committee. On receipt of the said representation, the Security Review Committee shall dispose of the

same in accordance with law more particularly, in the light of G.O.Rt.No.655, dated 13.3.1997, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of the said representation.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
