Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies.

Petitioners claim to have been appointed as nominated retailers in the year 1981 to supply kerosene to the card holders. Taking advantage of the scheme formulated by the Government in G.O.Ms.No.20, Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies (CS I CCS) Department dated 06.09.2018, the petitioners submitted applications dated 12.10.2018 to convert the petitioners as fair price shop dealers, but the same are pending. Alleging inaction of the respondents, these Writ Petitions are filed.

Without expressing any opinion on merits, the District Civil Supply Officer - respondent No.3 is directed to examine the claim of the petitioners for such conversion duly taking note of the requirements of G.O.Ms.No.20, dated 06.09.2018, pass orders and communicate the decision to the petitioners. The decision shall be taken and communicated to the petitioners within six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

With the above direction, the Writ Petitions are disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in these Writ Petitions, shall stand closed.
