THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAJASHEKER REDDY Contempt Case No.1335 of 2015 ORDER: (per Hon'ble Sri Justice Ramesh Ranganathan) This contempt case is filed alleging violation of the interim order passed by this Court in W.A.M.P.No.1885 of 2013 in W.A.No.879 of 2013 dated 25.06.2013 directing status quo existing on the date of the order to be maintained.

In the counter affidavit now filed by the respondent, it is stated that W.A.No.879 of 2013 was disposed of by a Division Bench of this Court by a common order dated 31.08.2015, along with ten other writ appeals, and the services of the respondents in the writ appeals were continued till 31.08.2015.

As the interlocutory order passed earlier has merged in the final order passed in the Writ Appeals, and as it is not in dispute that the aforesaid order of status quo was implemented till final order was passed on 31.08.2015, any violation by the Corporation thereafter can, at best, be of the order passed in W.A.No.878 of 2013 and batch dated 31.08.2015, and not the interim order passed in W.A.M.P.No.1885 of 2013 in W.A.No.879 of 2013 dated 25.06.2013.

We see no reason, therefore, to proceed against the respondent under the Contempt of Courts Act for violation of the order passed in W.A.M.P.No.1885 of 2013 in W.A.No.879 of 2013 dated 25.06.2013. The Contempt Case is, accordingly, closed. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall also stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
